Good morning everyone

I am back from Arkansas and back at the YMCA.  Yesterday I was very sore and today its not a whole lot better and I have to hit the weights again today.  Not going to be pretty.

This morning I am going to the Toyota dealership to pick up my tags.  They called and said they were in.  Then to the DMV to switch my plates from regular to handicapped.  Then it will be time to come home change clothes and hit the torture rack at the Y.

I have a funeral to attend tomorrow for the mother of a friend.  She was 99 and outlived my friend. Next week its yard work time.  I have a landscaper coming to fix a drainage problem.  Over the years a spot in the yard has sunk a little and can't drain.  While that is being fixed we will discuss what to do with my flower beds.  Its been ten years and things have grown way too much.  I want to pull out a lot of things and replace with native plants that are small and slow growing.  I am gone too much to take care of flower beds.  Right now I have a great crop of weeds.

I guess that's all that's happening here.  Chime in everyone

Good Morning Linda and OFF,

I took it easy yesterday, coz the foot was absolutely killing me.  I have no real plans today.  I have to run a couple of errands, but nothing major.  Just have to scoot to the store here in town for a few things.

Vickie, I hope Benny starts feeling better.  It's so scary when the little ones get sick.  I'm sure Christie is doing everything she can to help him.  I know how hard it is to be away from our Munchkins when they're sick.  Keep us posted.  Caralee is just so stinking adorable.  I'm sure it's hard to not want to just rock her for hours on end.  I'm glad Carrie's milk came in.  I'm sure she can start getting into a routine with her now.

Connie, I hope you are able to get some rest today.  Sounds like you had a thorough work up at the clinic yesterday.  I hope the regular doses of Vicodin help curb your pain.

Carla, I hope you're able to visit here.  Call me, and we ca get together for lunch, or breakfast, or something.  I'd love to see you again.

I better scoot.  I have phone calls to make.

Hugs,

Trish

Trish

Hope the foot is feeling better today after resting yesterday.  Sounds like you will be able to pace yourself today also so maybe tomorrow the foot will be even better.  I'm sure you are anxious for it to be completely healed.

Hello Trish....I hope your foot is feeling much better today. Why do you think it is hurting so bad? Maybe you should contact your doctor. Is it supposed to hurt this much after this amount of time? I am praying for you!

I didn't get much rest at all today. I had to ride a bus to get my Vicodin. Usually my meds are just mail to me. I needed it for today. I finally got back home. Then my daughter called to say she was coming to see me after all. First she said she wasn't but changed her mind. I love having her here. We had a wonderful visit. I just wish I would have known earlier as it would have saved me the bus ride.

I am finishing up these replies and then I am off to bed. I am exhausted!

Have a good night....keep that foot elevated....heat or ice it too.

Love and many hugs to you.....connie d

Good morning sistas!

This ol' Mimi's tail is draggin' today.  Whew!  New babies are totally uncaring of anyone's sleep schedule.

No plans for today except a run to the store sometime.  Benny is doing a little better today.  No fever and he wanted to go to school, so Chris let him go, but told his teacher to call if the coughing fits start back up.

I'm a little frustrated with Christie this morning.  She has to work tomorrow (Saturday) and she's known it all week.  Mike also has to work.  Christie's regular babysitter can't sit tomorrow. Has Chris done anything about it?  NO.  She writes me this morning that she doesn't know what she's going to do.  Well, HELL.  Don't call me!  I'm 200 miles away and I can't do a damn thing about it.

We took Caralee for her first little outside walk last night.  We didn't walk far, but it made Carrie sore.  However, it is good for her recovery to walk, and I told her we will do it again today.

I'm also frustrated with how well (or perhaps NOT well) the breastfeeding is going.  I thought Carrie's milk was coming in yesterday, but now I think not.  I mean, I remember what it was like when MY milk came it.  I don't see that process happening with Carrie.  We had to fix a couple of little bottles of formula yesterday.  The baby was just crying and fussing and acting sooo hungry.  She would take a half ounce or ounce of formula and settle right down.  I think Carrie needs to call the lactation specialist today.  It's Day Six and no milk supply yet?  Something doesn't add up.

So other than a little laundry, nothing else is happening here today.  I'm sleep deprived and can't remember who posted what now.  Love you all!

Vic,

I am running by for a second. Remember that the colostrum is milk; it's just concentrated and much more nutritional than the milk that comes in later.  After about four days, the milk comes but it is a very thin looking milk...it might even look like a cloudy watery substance.  A few weeks after birth and after supply and demand has taken hold, the breasts begin producing milk that actually looks like the milk we see in the stores (white).  Tell her to hang on and if she can avoid giving the baby bottles, do so because when she only produces what the baby needs and if she is drinking an ounce or more of formula, that halts that ounce or more of breast milk....plus, there is research that indicates that a mother's body can take the saliva of the baby that sort of gets pulled into the nipple and adjust the milk for how the baby is doing that day in terms of fat content, antibodies, and even water.  Carrie will lose the baby weight so much faster than if she weren't breast feeding. If the baby is peeing and pooping, she is getting enough food.

It awful hard to know when one's milk is flowing.  There is no oz marker's on the boobies.  My milk never did come in and both my kids were bottle babies.  They are 39 and 40 now and neither one has ever been sick other than an occasional cold and not even that as children.   Little Caralee will be fine whatever method of feeding she ends up with.  It is heart wrenching to feel that your baby is hungry.

Get as much rest as you can also.  Glad Benny is feeling better.

Hello Vickie.....Christie just does things that she knows will irritate you! Finding a sitter is her and Mike's responsibility. You are right about that! They can't expect you to bail them out all the time. They have to learn to get things taken care of themselves.

I thought after the holiday's one of them would be looking for a new job. They can't work the same shifts. If they  continue to keep doing it then they will have to figure out what to do with the kids themselves.  Put it out of your mind, you can't do it anyway!

Sorry Carrie is having problems with the breast milk. I hope it comes back in soon. I agree she should call in about it. Maybe they can give her some ideas as to what might work better.

I pray you can get in some good restful sleep tonight.

This is a beautiful picture of Caralee!!!!! I love her little smile!!

Keep encouraging Carrie to walk. The more she can do it the better she will feel over all.

Love you and more hugs.........connie d

Hi Linda and my OFF family:

I didn't get on yesterday at all. I had my appointment with my psychologist ... it went well. She did a therapy called DMVR, it's something with lights and beeps and it's meant to turn off anxiety problems. It was very interesting. First she had me recall the attack, then we went through the therapy with the lights and beeps, then we pulled back and did some deep breathing and thought "happy thoughts." It was meant to calm me down.

Work was OK. Hectic as usual but not too bad. It's in the 60s today, but very windy. I have to go back to Starbucks today ... yesterday I got an iced coffee with SF cinnamon dolce syrup (my fav), but they put regular CD instead ... it was super sweet and sticky. I couldn't drink it. I have to go back and complain. I tossed it out and filled up my cup with water instead. So much for the caffeine I needed.

Vickie, sorry Carrie's milk hasn't come in. Don't know what to tell you.

Linda, I should have gone to the Y too but I slept in. Been so tired lately.

Well, anyway, not much going on around here. Gary's at work and I won't see him until tomorrow. Hope everyone has a nice day.
